ERIC WOOLFE

 

 

Eric Woolfe is an actor, playwright, puppeteer and magician. He is the artistic director of Eldritch Theatre, a weird little company that specializes in grotesquely comedic horror plays that mix live actors and puppets.  His work as actor and playwright for Eldritch Theatre includes Madhouse Variations, The Babysitter (Dora Nomination for Outstanding Production TYA), The Strange & Eerie Memoirs of Billy Wuthergloom (Dora Nomination for Outstanding Production, Outstanding Performance), Dear Boss (Dora Nomination for Outstanding New Play), Grendelmaus (Dora Nomination for Oustanding New Play and Outstanding Performance), and Sideshow of the Damned (Canadian Comedy Award Nomination for Really Funny Play). 

 

Some of his other credits include Rocket & the Queen of Dreams, for Roseneath Theatre, Little Shop of Horrors for Canstage, Timon in Disney's The Lion King; Theatre Orangeville’s Kitchen Witches; Arms & the Man, The Drawer Boy, and Revenge of the Woman Dressed Largely in Black for Thousand Island Playhouse; The Glass Menagerie, and Kingdom of Earth for Touchmark Theatre; Shakespeare's Wars of the Roses for the Canadian Stage Company; Peter Pan, A Christmas Carol for the Grand Theatre; and A Clever Boy for the Toronto Fringe Festival.

 

His non-creepy writing credits include Step Right Up!, and Twas, for Theatre Orangeville. Pomeranski Rex for The Toronto Fringe and the film script Momento Mori.  Scirocco Drama recently published Dear Boss, and a collection of his plays, entitled The Eldritch Plays. His film and TV credits include Murdoch Mysteries, New York Minute, Anonymous Rex, and most notably, George Romero’s modern zombie western masterpiece, Survival of the Dead.
